The upper and lower curved shelves are structural, and tenon through the sides of the uprights. The sides are faceted on three planes, to create an interesting shadow-line. The rear support is tapered, to visually ground it. The middle shelf is adjustable to three positions.
The client wished for a minimalist design that would not compete with the displayed art work. It was designed to display studio glass, and needed to be heavy enough to not be easily knocked or upset. It offers shelter, but the art remains accessible.
Solid white oak, through tenon joinery.
